Description

Becoming a B'nei Mitzvah (Bar/Bat Mitzvah) doesn’t have to be filled with drama…enjoy the drama in our class! Through theatre exercises and techniques, we’ll discover the basics of Torah reading, Torah content/Parashah, and Prayer (Tefilah/davening) structure, in an engaging, participatory, fun, and relatable way. Whether you’ve never set foot in a synagogue or if you attend services weekly, if you are starting your Bar/Bat Mitvah journey and you want to take a great first step, this course is for you!

  • Class 1: It’s called Torah reading... But we sing it! Intro to Torah chanting (Trope/Taamei Hamikrah) through dramatic play and voicing text.
  • Class 2: What’s the story with the Torah? Intro to Torah content and weekly Torah portion (Parashah) through bibliodrama.
  • Class 3: What’s cool about shul? Understanding prayer (Tefilah/davening) structure through storytelling.

Evelyn Goldfinger AKA "Ms. Eve" is an award-winning performer, playwright, educator, and cantorial soloist in Miami, USA. She graduated from the Experiential Jewish Education certificate program at YU and she is a certified as Storyteller/educator from RISENewCAJE. Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Evelyn created Torahtron, a professional Jewish Educational Theater ensemble that has engaged over 10,000 spectators. Ms. Eve brings fun and interactive shows and videos to families.
