Course Details

Description

Do you like to dance or move? Do you like Israeli music? Do you want to have fun? In this class you will learn some traditional Israeli dances as well as some new ones created with new modern Israeli songs. Join this class to learn basic steps, and dance it out!

As we catch our breath between dances, we'll answer questions like:

  • Why is Israeli dance done barefoot?
  • Who makes Israeli dances?
  • What is the Hora and where does it come from?
Requirements
Open space - the larger the better. Optimal space is larger than 12 ft. by 12 ft.
Supply List
  • Two legs and space to move.
  • Good sound (speaker connected) or wireless headphones in order to hear and move freely while hearing the music.

Silvio Berlfein
Silvio is a fun, energetic and entertaining educator. He has been teaching Israeli dance for all ages for over 20 years. Originally from Argentina, he has performed and choreographed for Israeli dance troupes. Some of his dances are done all over the world. He has given workshops throughout the Israeli dance community as well as for Hebrew and Day school teachers. He lives in Miami and during the summer is the program director for the New Jersey Y Camps. Anyone participating in his classes comes out dancing and having fun.
