Minecraft, the top selling video game of all time, is an amazing way for learners to come together to make friends, have fun, and learn about Judaism through fun, collaborative, and competitive activities.
Minecraft’s building blocks provide the substance to create whatever a person may desire. In this course, the Minecraft universe will be a place to build around a series of Jewish holidays. Students will participate in a series of fun, collaborative activities that incorporate Jewish educational themes around the holidays, history, and Israel.
We’ll learn about Yom Haatzmaut–Israeli independence day–and the long history of the Jewish people’s fight for freedom and self-determination. Then you’ll explore the holiday of Lag Ba’Omer, how it relates to ancient Temple practices, and how Jews celebrate it today. And finally, you’ll get to kick back and relax in Eilat, the beautiful beach town in southern Israel. Ever wanted to swim with dolphins? Well here’s your chance!
