Beginning Hebrew - Part 1 (Including Passover Learning!)

Over the course of 10 weeks, students will learn about half of the letters and vowels of the Hebrew Alef-Bet, how to put them together to decode (read) and along the way will pick up some basic vocabulary.

Description

How do we make sense of these strange looking letters? Over the course of 10 weeks, students will learn about half of the letters and vowels of the Hebrew Alef-Bet, how to put them together to decode (read) and along the way will pick up some basic vocabulary.

Giggles and play will occur throughout!

Requirements
Students will need work space to write and lay out flash cards as well as space to create letters with their bodies.
Supply List

A spiral notebook with lined paper or a 3 ring binder with Loose leaf lined paper, 3 hole punch paper, pencils, eraser, playdough, index cards or cardstock, glue and tape, scissors

Stephanie Marshall, RJE has been engaging learners for 34 years. Teaching all ages, toddlers to adults, she has worked as the Education Director at synagogues and Jewish agencies around the country, as the director of Jewish Day camps, and as both an educator and faculty member at several Jewish sleep away camps. Stephanie has also spent many years as a youth group advisor. She has her MA in Jewish Education from HUC-JIR, where she was awarded the Rabbi Mordecai and Eve Soloff Award for Excellence in Jewish Education. Stephanie has also earned a certificate in Innovation and Change/Excellence in School Leadership from NewCAJE. She is currently based in Tulsa, OK.
