Building Connections with your Tween/Teen
This interactive 3-session series is ideal for parents of children ages ten and older. Each session will explore a variety of ways that parents can better understand their tween-teen's developmental and psychosocial stage and will teach parents practical strategies for creating healthy ways to support and connect with their tween-teen. Each session will be framed through the lens of Jewish values.

Course Details
Session 1: How Parents Can Help Tweens-Teens Build Self-esteem and Develop a Healthy Sense of Self
In this session, we will explore numerous societal challenges to a young person's developing sense of self-esteem. Parents will learn ways to help their tween-teen build their self-esteem and flourish into a confident and well-adjusted young adult.
Session 2: Communication Strategies that Open the Door to a Stronger Relationship
In this session, we will discuss challenges to the ways in which parents sometimes ask questions or seek information, often unintentionally shutting down communication with their tween-teen. Parents will learn open door communication techniques that encourage growth-minded, open, and reciprocal conversations.
Session 3: Practical Tools to Help Your Tween/Teen Build Their Resilience Muscle
In this session, we will discuss the struggles that tweens-teens face today in being able to appropriately deal with everyday challenges. Parents will learn strategies to help their tween-teen build resilience so that they can better navigate through the bumpy road towards adulthood.
